Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Labor & Delivery for a night shift position in a Magnet, Level II Trauma Center requiring a CA RN license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care hospital
  • Primarily cares for laboring mothers and newborns with variable birth volumes
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 2
  • Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00
  • Weekend requirement is two weekends every six weeks, with night shift weekends including Fridays
  • No on-call responsibility
  • No floating required within the hospital
  • Cerner EMR is used and experience is required
  • This is a night shift position in a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level II Trauma hospital
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate
  • Return staff policy requires a one-year break before re-employment
  • Scrub attire must avoid camouflage and character patterns
  • Holiday time off can be requested for one holiday but working holidays is likely
  • Free parking available on site
  • Online training modules required during orientation
  • COVID-19 vaccination required

    • Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of one year recent Labor & Delivery experience
  • Current BLS, AWHONN Advanced, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) certifications required
  • NRP Advanced certification with all 11 components required
  • Vaginal exam and baby care abilities required
  • Experience with birth volumes ranging from under 100 to over 300 births
