Health Information Management Supervisor
The Health Information Management Supervisor assists the Manager with plans, develops and leads activities, workload and special projects for the HIM Department. Meets the standards set by the hospital and Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
What You Will Do :
- Assists Manager in the development of policies and procedures for the standardization, control and regulated use of medical information and its availability to users. Ensures compliance with all applicable internal and external standards and regulations. Adheres to national member organization standards relative to best practice. Assists in the development of goals for assigned area of responsibility.
- Supervises staff including, but not limited to, scheduling, assisting with evaluation and staff selection. Ensures that all employee training needs are met. Recommend promotions.
- Engages in and demonstrates self-development in clinical, professional and managerial areas.
- Represents the department in hospital and / or health system meetings as requested by the Manager or Director.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
What You Will Need :
Associate's degree in health information management, or Health Informatics, or related field (relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)Minimum of 5 years of related experienceRHIA or RHIT Certification by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)What We Offer :
