Job Title : Tooling Design Engineer

Employer : Pacer Staffing Inc. Duration : Direct hire

Base pay range : $30.00 / hr - $35.00 / hr. This range is provided by Pacer Group. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Responsibilities

• Design the following : progressive pierce and form dies including stock strip development
• Single hit pierce and form dies
• Special tools such as robotic weld fixtures, assembly fixtures and drill fixtures
• Drilling & routing machines
• Custom machine fabrication applications varying in degree of complexity
• Rebuild and redesign existing tooling to be upgraded, sometimes with little or no documentation
• Develop and work with working sketches
• Convert 2D drawings to 3D SolidWorks drawings when necessary; other 3D software acceptable
• Consult and work with tool and die makers, design and production engineers, press operators and assembly line workers as required to ensure proper part and die design criteria is met
• Plot drawings, create bill of materials and order materials and commercial items for die and machine projects
• Assemble project files for shop distribution and records
• Communicate frequently with leadership team and project requesters regarding status of projects
• Provide quotes as needed for dies, special machines and fixtures as needed
• Working hours : 5 : 40 a.m. to 4 : 10 p.m. (Monday – Thursday)
