Position Summary :

The Demo Burner B position supports demolition operations by assisting in the ground-level cutting of large steel components into smaller, manageable sections. This role requires demolition experience, a foundational understanding of safe cutting practices, and awareness of how to manage live loads during operations. The position plays a critical support role in maintaining safety and efficiency on active job sites.

Key Responsibilities

Perform torch cutting to safely and efficiently process ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Conduct cold cutting operations using appropriate tools and techniques to meet production requirements.

Assist with light rigging duties, including securing, moving, and positioning materials

Support the demolition team in preparing, staging, and processing materials for removal.

Set up and maintain cutting equipment, ensuring tools are in proper working condition.

Follow all safety procedures related to torch use, hot work areas, and demolition practices.

Monitor and respond to structural load conditions to prevent accidents or collapse.

Keep work areas clean, organized, and clear of debris.

Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks effectively.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of demolition or heavy industrial work experience preferred.

TWIC Card required

Basic Plus Training

Drivers License required

Familiarity with torch cutting equipment and basic steel cutting techniques.

Understanding of live load dynamics and safe cutting practices.

Ability to work in physically demanding environments with exposure to weather and heavy materials.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Work Conditions

Work is conducted on active demolition job sites in outdoor and potentially hazardous conditions.

Must be able to lift and move heavy materials, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor.

Exposure to loud noises, sparks, heavy equipment, and variable weather.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.

Occasional travel between job sites may be required.
