Occupational Therapist (OT) & Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Location : Lanham, Maryland
Setting : Outpatient - Pediatrics (autism spectrum disorder)
Schedule : Monday-Friday
Employment Type : Full-Time (Daytime Hours) or Part-Time (Blocked Schedule)
Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist (OT) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will work collaboratively to assess, plan, and implement individualized occupational therapy interventions for children and adolescents with ASD. The focus of this role is to enhance each child's functional independence, sensory integration, fine and gross motor skills, and overall participation in daily activities - all within an outpatient, center-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to children with ASD.
Collaborate with families to ensure carryover of skills in the home and community.
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including BCBAs, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Clinical Directors.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sessions, progress notes, and reports.
Participate in team meetings, professional development, and family training sessions.
Qualifications for OT & COTA :
Occupational Therapist (OT)
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current Maryland OT License .
NBCOT Certification .
Experience with pediatric or autism populations in an outpatient setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
Current Maryland COTA License .
NBCOT Certification .
Prior experience providing therapy to children with ASD preferred.
Ability to collaborate effectively under the supervision of a licensed OT.
