Role Objective
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Resident Engineer to embed with our client's engineering
team for a critical 6-month engagement. The primary objective of this role is to accelerate the
troubleshooting of complex network issues using AGILITY product.
You will serve as the first line of defense in distinguishing whether performance degradations originate from the RAN, Core, or User Plane,
drastically reducing Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR).
Beyond technical execution, you will act as a Trusted Advisor and ambassador.
You will leverage your proximity to the client to understand their pain points, build custom automations (Python / Bash) to
bridge gaps, and identify new opportunities where portfolio can drive further value.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advanced Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
Domain Isolation : Utilize AGILITY tool to rapidly analyze end-to-end call flows and packet
captures (PCAP) to determine if issues are rooted in the Radio Access Network (RF conditions,
handovers), Core Network (signaling, bearer setup), or User Plane (transport, throughput).
Protocol Analysis : Deep dive into signaling protocols (S1AP, NGAP, GTP-C / U, SIP, RRC) to pinpoint
failure causes such as connection drops, handover failures, or latency spikes.
Support & Collaboration : Work side-by-side with the client's RAN testing teams and OEM vendors
to provide data-backed evidence for defect ownership, effectively ending "blame game" cycles
between vendors.
2. Automation & Scripting
Workflow Automation : Identify repetitive manual testing or log collection tasks and create scripts
(e.g. using Python and Bash) to automate them, integrating these flows into the AGILITY platform
where possible.
Custom Tooling : Develop "glue code" to parse complex log files or interface with client OSS / BSS
APIs, enhancing the team's ability to visualize network health.
Innovation : Proactively suggest new methods for automated log parsing and signature detection to
improve the AGILITY tool's AI model accuracy over time.
3. Trusted Advisor & Business Growth

Client Advocacy : Build strong, trust-based relationships with client stakeholders (managers, lead
engineers) by demonstrating deep technical expertise and reliability.
Opportunity Identification : Actively listen to client challenges beyond the immediate scope of
work. Identify gaps in their current toolset or processes where other solutions or expanded
AGILITY use cases could add value.
Adoption Driver : Ensure the client team is fully comfortable with the AGILITY tool; conduct
informal training sessions and "over-the-shoulder" coaching to drive product stickiness and
adoption.
Required Technical Qualifications
Network Domain Knowledge : Strong understanding of End-to-End (E2E) network flows in 4G LTE
and 5G NR. Ideally deep understand of both RAN and Core networks, at least one of them is a must.
Protocol Expertise : Proficiency in analyzing :
o 5G / 4G Interfaces : S1-MME, S1-U, N1, N2, N3.
o Protocols : SIP (VoLTE / VoNR), RTP, GTP, TCP / IP basics.
Tools : Expert-level skills in Wireshark or similar packet analysis tools. Familiarity with network
monitoring / OSS tools.
Scripting : Demonstrated ability to write scripts for automation and data manipulation
using Python (pandas, requests, paramiko) and Bash / Shell.
Soft Skills & Core Competencies
"Trusted Advisor" Mindset : Ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical
stakeholders in a way that builds confidence and authority.
Sales Acumen : An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to "listen for business" - identifying up-
sell opportunities without being pushy.
Diplomacy : Experience working in multi-vendor environments, capable of navigating political
sensitivities while remaining objective and data-driven.
Autonomy : Self-starter who can define their own daily agenda and drive value without constant
supervision.
