Unit : Cardiac Stepdown (IMC)

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36 (3x12-hour shifts)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week

Weekend Requirement : 5 weekend days in a 6-week pay period

Patient Ratio : 1 : 4

Orientation : 12 hours

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1880-$2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown or IMC RN experience

Prior travel nursing experience required

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maryland or compact state; pending license accepted)

Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Experience with Epic EMR charting system

Ability to manage a 4 : 1 patient ratio in a cardiac stepdown unit

COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (no exemptions)

Ability to float within scope as needed

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients, including those with trauma, cardiac drips, post-cath, and ventilator needs

Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition

Administer blood products, cardiac drips, and manage chest tubes, ventilators, and tracheostomies

Provide care for patients with DKA, NSTEMI, STEMI, and post-surgical needs

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy

Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR

Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed

Educate patients and families on post-cardiac procedure care and recovery
