Diesel Fleet Shop Technician – Work Location : Asheville, NC
Full-Time – Pay Range : $35.00 - $50.00 / HR (Based on experience & certifications)
Position Summary : The Diesel Fleet Shop Technician will join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of diesel-powered fleet vehicles and equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations.
The shop is brand new, and we are looking for someone who can lead with confidence, think independently, and make informed decisions without constant oversight. You will be an independent thinker with a strong technical aptitude, motivation, and enthusiasm. You will be punctual, reliable, and able to manage your time effectively.
DUTIES
- Perform preventative maintenance on customer fleets
- Diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty diesel trucks
- Conduct computer diagnostics and troubleshooting on late-model vehicles
- Work with engine accessories, brake systems, steering, and transmission components
- Follow inspection checklists and test drive vehicles to confirm issues and repairs
- Raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks or hoists and perform physical repairs
- Read diagnostic test results and act on needed repairs or adjustments
QUALIFICATIONS
Hands-on diesel experienceStrong skills in diagnostics, mechanical repair, and troubleshootingComfortable using laptops, scan tools, and tech softwareSelf-motivated and capable of working solo or on a teamPREFERRED
CDL a plusProduct / Industry knowledgeFleet experience is a plus!ASE certifiedBENEFITS
