Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a PICU RN with at least one year of pediatric critical care experience and a current TX or compact RN license for a variable night shift assignment.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a children’s hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma CenterPatient population consists of critically ill pediatric patients with expected nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 2-3Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7 : 00 pm – 7 : 00 am) and variable weekend requirementsBlock scheduling availableTravelers may float between the PICU and other units and between sister facilities as neededUses Epic EMR, prior experience requiredNavy scrubs required for RNsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyMust be willing to float between all facilities within the state as neededMust commit to work at least 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)Returning staff must have a 3-month separation before returning as travelersFree staff parking and bike racks availableMinimal to no request time off (RTO) is strongly preferred, and all time off must be requested up frontTravelers refusing to float may risk contract terminationRequirements
Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of considerationAt least 1 year of recent experience in a pediatric intensive care setting requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredTwo supervisory references from the past three years requiredMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility; locals accepted at a lower rateMust provide SSN, date of birth, driver’s license, and required immunization recordsNo background or Nursys report issues acceptedCompletion of non-billable modules before start and annuallyBenefits
