Cost Report Supervisor
The Cost Report Supervisor plans, directs, and reviews audits and desk reviews of Medicare Cost Reports in accordance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) expectations for timeliness and accuracy. This role supports compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), while ensuring timely and accurate cost report settlements that impact Medicare provider reimbursement.
Salary Range $80,000 - $95,000. The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Work Location : We are open to remote work in the following approved states : Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin.
In this role you will :
- Assign, monitor and review audits and desk reviews using the Uniform Desk Review / Audit Program, ensuring quality and timely completion.
- Defend audit and reimbursement related decisions and adjustments proposed.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance through quality audits and performance metrics; providing coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities.
- Provide leadership in meeting internal production goals and CMS requirements.
- Seek innovative ways to improve work processes to meet job objectives while continually enhancing performance.
- Monitor Medicare regulations and provide recommendations to leadership to ensure cost report practice maintain compliance.
- Participate in audit workgroups directing future specific audit functions rolled out for companywide implementation.
- Monitor team workload to ensure timely completion of audits and desk reviews, cost report acceptances, tentative and final settlements, interim rate reviews, and new provider evaluations.
- Ensure team compliance with government standards and internal audit procedures.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent post high school education and / or work-related experience.3 more years of progressive experience in Medicare cost report auditing.1 year or more in a supervisory or lead role.Solid knowledge of CMS cost reporting and reimbursement methodologies.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office, audit software, and data reporting tools.Remote Work Requirements :
