Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Psychiatric Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours Employment Type : Travel Travel Psych ER RN – Level 1 Location : Rochester, NY Unit : Psychiatric Emergency Room Start Date : August 4, 2025 Contract Length : 13 Weeks Shift Schedule : 3x12s – BLOCKED WEEKEND NIGHTS Includes : Holidays, On-Call, Callback, Charge as needed Position Overview : This assignment is in a fast-paced Psychiatric Emergency Department , where you’ll care for adult and pediatric patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises. As a Psych ER RN , you will collaborate closely with physicians, behavioral health teams, and social workers to deliver compassionate, safe, and timely care. Core Responsibilities : Conduct psychiatric intake assessments and gather patient history Develop and implement nursing care plans tailored to each patient’s needs Administer and monitor the effects of psychotropic medications Support patients in understanding their diagnoses and treatment options Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff Participate in psychiatric rounds and interdisciplinary treatment planning Complete documentation in accordance with behavioral health and hospital standards Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when necessary Required Qualifications : Active NY State RN License (Required) BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient psych or psych ER experience Preferred Skills : Strong background in de-escalation techniques and behavioral health protocols Familiarity with psychotropic medications and crisis stabilization Previous experience in a Psych ER or high-acuity psych setting HumanEdge Health Contact Information Website : / >
