Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum) : $24.750 - $30.860 - $36.970
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. What You Will Do
Assists patients, staff and physicians as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency of operations and customer service while providing quality care to a designated patient population.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- 5 Years medical assistant experience in an outpatient vascular surgery clinical setting.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association - REQUIRED
Essential Functions
Clinical Competencies : Successfully completes Clinical Competencies with a score of 90% or greater in each section; Retesting results : Great / Good; Needs Improvement if gaps persist beyond retraining.Clinical Skills : Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in assigned area and within scope of practice. Performs tests and procedures, administers medications safely per guidelines, ensures verification by licensed personnel, and documents medications with two patient identifiers. Prepares patients for examinations or procedures and obtains complete consent where applicable.]Documentation and Patient Care : Accurately documents patient care per protocol; prepares and labels specimens; reviews pre-printed teaching materials with patients when appropriate; uses universal precautions and infection control policies.Patient Interaction and Scheduling : Listens to patients, collects pertinent information, recognizes urgency, routes to physicians, returns calls per physician instruction, and may schedule patient appointments. May review teaching materials with patients in partnership with physicians.Operations Support : Provides assistance to front desk responsibilities including scheduling and telephone management; participates in clinical projects; completes department-specific requirements.Department Efficiency and Effectiveness : Manages daily tasks, patient flow, and scheduling; ensures readiness of reports; maintains supplies; participates in site inspections and inventories; supports cross-department needs as required.Quality Initiatives : Completes QA assignments and supports quality initiatives (P4P, BMI, DataMart, etc.).Technical Skills : Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and information systems; activates emergency procedures per protocol; documents care events; completes AEHR tasks; maintains typing proficiency and understands insurance and scheduling requirements; operates department equipment.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
