Job descriptionStarting & stopping the test article Putting the test article on automated test schedule System integrity checks Use the dynamometer control system to run defined tests that manipulate control aspects of the engine including spark advance, fuel-air ratio, cam position, valve position, etc. Interact on a day-to-day basis with powertrain development engineers to perform work on a test article
The Engine Dyno Test Cell Operator will be expected to perform the following duties :
- Perform mechanical support associated with engine and transmission testing
- Test article cart installation & removal
- Standard engine maintenances (oil changes, spark plug changes, compression / leak down checks, coolant system pressurization, etc.)
- Part changes (cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, etc.)
- Light fabrication (MIG & TIG welding, machining, cutting, etc.)
