1. Job Summary
The Design Engineer is responsible for creating and developing fabrication drawings from brand guidelines and field survey data using SolidWorks and CorelDRAW. This position also produces conceptual design drawings based on architectural and building information, ensuring all designs meet project requirements and company standards.
2. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design Development & Documentation :
Create detailed fabrication drawings and specifications using SolidWorks and CorelDRAW.
Develop concept designs from architectural plans, surveys, and client brand standards.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of all drawings, layouts, and design documents.
Maintain comprehensive records of design processes, revisions, and specifications.
Collaboration & Project Coordination :
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and production teams to align designs with project goals.
Review and adjust designs to meet client requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
Support cross-functional teams by providing technical drawings and design clarification.
Quality & Compliance :
Verify that all designs comply with safety, structural, and brand requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts for design processes and standards.
3. Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of relevant design experience, preferably in sign manufacturing or a related field.
Proficiency in SolidWorks and CorelDRAW required; experience with FlexiSign, Adobe Illustrator, or AutoCAD is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong mathematical and analytical abilities for developing accurate designs.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, maintenance instructions, and technical procedures.
Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills for complex design challenges.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Physical Requirements
Primarily seated role with occasional walking and standing.
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 5 pounds.
