(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Plays a critical role in helping the Athletics Director achieve maximum role impact. Assists the Athletic Director to prioritize and make the best use of time, provides strategic and analytical support, manages full life cycle of assigned special projects, and helps the Athletics Leadership Team function as effectively as possible. Collaborates closely with all Athletics staff. Highly organized, strategic, and action-oriented, works in a fast-paced environment, and has a positive impact on a dynamic institution of higher education.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Assists with strategic initiatives, monitoring progress and ensuring cross functional alignment
2. Functions as a trusted advisor to the Athletic Director
3. Manages relevant Athletics staff responsible for the Athletic Director's calendar, travel, and prioritizing scheduling
4. Leads internal communications for the Athletic Director
5. Champions and cultivates a positive and high performing departmental culture aligned with organizational values and strategic goals
6. Joins appropriate leadership meetings to capture notes and follow up on key action items or supervises others in so doing
7. Facilitates conversations with the key stakeholders as well as other external entities as needed and requested
8. Supports the Athletic Director in moving specific streams of work or projects forward
9. Tracks and gathers information for the Athletic Director, coordinates with involved parties, develops and monitors execution plans, and keeps track of responsibilities
10. Works closely with the Advancement Office, proactively supports the Athletic Director to plan for and monitor the relationship-building and stakeholder engagement
11. Provides strategic and analytical support for the Athletic Director by gathering information and completing analysis in order to prepare potential solutions and provide specific recommendations for consideration
12. Builds relationships throughout the University and with external constituencies and serves as a key information funnel, filter, and facilitator for the Athletic Director
13. Assists with monitoring alignment between the University's mission and strategy and day-to-day departmental operations
14. As requested, assists the Athletic Director stay in touch with and communicate regularly with key internal and external stakeholders. (e.g., in some cases, takes meetings on behalf of the Athletic Director or helps to move interactions forward between key meetings and discussions that are directly with the Athletic Director)
15. Coordinates the logistics for meetings and events, including agendas and follow-ups
16. Works to keep the Athletic Director's office operating at maximum efficiency and effectiveness
17. May serve as the Sports Programs Administrator for assigned sport(s)
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Business, Communications, or related field is required.
Required Experience
Seven (7) years of related work experience supporting leadership in managing complex projects and issues and working collaboratively with multiple constituents.

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Experience in a higher education work environment
