Power your future with Qualus in our Substation Protection and Control department as a Protection & Control Engineer. You will play a crucial role in designing and developing utility substation Protection & Control (P&C) engineering packages, including drawings such as one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, AC / DC Elementary diagrams, circuit schedules, logic diagrams, and operating diagrams.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings, and other groups to ensure design concurrence.
- Develop complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including diagrams, schematics, layouts, specifications, and bill of materials.
- Create SCADA packages, including input / output lists (Point Data Sheets).
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, technicians, and less experienced engineers.
- Maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Present technical solutions confidently to customers and respond to technical concerns articulately.
- Participate in client meetings and site visits to gather or deliver engineering data.
- Perform assignments independently, with guidance from Managers or Lead Engineers on complex projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a focus on power systems; MS Degree or international degrees considered.3+ years of experience in developing utility substation P&C design packages.Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) License is a plus; pursuing PE License desirable.Physical design experience and Protection & Control experience are advantageous.Commitment to continuing education and licensing.Benefits & Compensation
