HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION

The Payroll Specialist I is a payroll professional that is responsible for administering the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance bi-weekly payroll. This position performs a variety of technical and functional duties including setting up, compiling, verifying, reporting and processing payroll related data in the Dayforce Human Capital Management system. The position reports to the Payroll Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Processes bi-weekly payroll, terminations, retro calculations, payroll deductions, imports, and garnishment administration in accordance with state and federal regulations, policies and union contract.
• Responds and resolves complex and sensitive inquires, maintains effective working relationships, provides excellent customer service.
• Administers Leave of Absences as they pertains to payroll for Medical Leaves, Workers Comp, FMLA / CFRA and Accommodation Leaves. Coordinate pay.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will be a Certified Payroll Professional, demonstrating a high level of expertise in payroll practices and compliance.
