Director, Project Management Office (PMO)
Position Summary
The Waldinger Corporation is seeking a results-oriented, hands-on leader to serve as Director of the Project Management Office (PMO). This individual will be responsible for driving execution excellence and measurable business outcomes across a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives. Reporting to the CIO, the Director will build and mature Waldinger’s enterprise PMO—establishing the standards, governance, and delivery discipline needed to support the company’s ambitious growth and digital transformation goals.
The PMO will serve as an enterprise function, responsible for the delivery and oversight of all enterprise-level strategic projects. The Director will ensure alignment, visibility, and results across initiatives that advance Waldinger’s overall corporate strategy.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects in industrial settings such as construction, manufacturing, or HVAC / service organizations. The candidate will be a strong people leader who thrives in dynamic environments, balancing structure with agility to ensure projects deliver tangible business value.
Key Responsibilities
PMO Leadership & Strategy
- Build and lead Waldinger’s PMO, defining governance, methodologies, and tools that drive consistency, transparency, and results.
- Partner with the CIO and senior executives to align programs with corporate strategy, ensuring clear prioritization and accountability for outcomes.
- Establish and manage project intake, prioritization, and scoring frameworks that balance value, risk, and resource availability.
- Develop portfolio management frameworks that measure project health, risk, and return on investment.
- Establish and report key metrics demonstrating delivery performance, financial impact, and business value realization.
Project & Program Delivery
Oversee successful execution of complex enterprise initiatives—including ERP modernization, digital operations, field mobility, and data & analytics projects—as well as other cross-functional business initiatives.Drive disciplined planning, execution, and delivery using both traditional Waterfall and Agile methodologies, selecting the right approach for each effort.Instill a culture of accountability for results, with clear ownership and measurable project success criteria.Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of project managers and business analysts.Create a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and results orientation across the PMO and project community.Partner with business and IT leaders to develop organizational project management maturity and delivery capability.Change Management & Communication
Collaborate with business units to understand priorities, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders on project feasibility, resource planning, and execution readiness.Apply structured change management practices to support adoption and minimize business disruption.Communicate clearly with executive stakeholders, providing actionable insights and transparent reporting on progress, risks, and results.Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
Experience :
10+ years of project and program management experience, including 5+ years in PMO leadership or director-level roles.Proven success delivering large-scale, complex, and cross-functional programs that achieved measurable business outcomes.Experience building or maturing a PMO in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing-oriented organization.Expertise in both Waterfall and Agile delivery models, with ability to integrate hybrid approaches as needed.Certifications : PMP and CSM preferred.
