The Eligibility Specialist screens and assists with the application process for Mountain Park Health

Center (MPHC) government discount program, medical assistance programs available, and other State and Federal programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist patients to understand their health benefit options and facilitate their enrollment in health benefits.
  • Creates and completes accurate applications for medical assistance programs offered by MPHC.
  • Ensure all support documentation and signatures are included with the eligibility application, as required.
  • Ensures income and other required information is correctly transferred into the Practice Management System and appropriate discount plan is given to all eligible patients.
  • Meets productivity requirements and works with team members to assure efficient use of time and service to the patients.
  • Has a good understanding of the rules and regulations regarding medical assistance programs offered by the organization and promptly applies all changes, as instructed by the department manager.
  • Completes all training offered by the department manager or the health center as approved.
  • Follows the established workflows, policies, and procedures for accurate input of data that aligns with what is in the practice management systems.
  • Keeps current with the rules and regulations regarding medical assistance programs offered by the organization.
  • Completes the required certification and license to complete federal and state eligibility enrollment programs.
  • Maintains program compliance by producing accurate work and meeting the expectations for internal and external audits.
  • Possesses the ability and willingness to learn about and execute implementation of new medical assistance programs.
  • Travel to multiple locations as needed.
  • This position requires consistent, in-person attendance at the employees’ assigned clinics. However, based on the employee’s performance and the specific task the employee is accomplishing, limited remote work may be permissible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in benefit qualification, assessment, or processing
