Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer for the Airstair program is responsible for developing and reviewing installation requirements, technical information, airframe production installation / fabrication drawings, engineering instructions, and related production guidance materials as it pertains to the mechanical and structural aspects of a modification program.
Responsibilities
- Review and develop requirements and ensure requirements are implemented in design solutions (3 years of professional experience is required)
- Ensure design content meets requirements of Statement of Work (3 years of professional experience is required)
- Manage project deliverables and schedules (2 years of professional experience is required)
- Create, review, and approve detail, assembly, and installation drawings (3 years of professional experience is required)
- Develop and review 3D models to support the installation of mechanical and structural provisions (3 years of professional experience is required)
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering documents such as Weight and Balance Reports, Stress Analysis Reports, Thermal Analysis Reports, Modification Instructions, to support FAA or military certification as required (2 years of professional experience is required)
- Create and review classical stress analysis (3 years of professional experience is required)
- Conduct internal and external design reviews (3 years of professional experience is required)
- Provide technical assistance in order to develop proposals, statement of works, and labor estimates
