Job description

Product Manager

The Product Manager is responsible for owning the strategy, development, and delivery of products within a defined subdomain of the state agency portfolio. The PM works closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure products meet user needs, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Maintains the product lifecycle for assigned subdomain(s) : from discovery and requirements gathering to launch and iteration.
  • Develops and maintains product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with domain-level strategy and organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with engineering, design, operations, and external partners to deliver high-quality products.
  • Gathers and analyzes user feedback, data, and market trends to inform product decisions.
  • Defines and tracks product metrics to measure success and inform continuous improvement.
  • Communicates product vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Develops, mentors, and provides leadership to Product Owners, fostering their growth and ensuring alignment with product goals.

This position may be expected to cross-train in other sections of their division and perform the job duties in each section, based on the needs of the agency.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :

  • Demonstrates ability to manage products from concept to launch.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and user-centered design.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Education & Experience :

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Public Administration, OR
  • 4 years of experience in product management, OR a closely related field, OR
  • equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Special Requirements :

  • The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency.
  • This position will not require travel.
  • This position is not eligible for telework.
  • This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
  • This position requires employees to be able to stand up to eight hours a day and lift 10-50 pounds on a regular basis, with assistance as needed.
