Job Overview
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR) serves as the face of the organization for patients seeking diagnostic services. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while ensuring a safe, accurate, and compassionate patient experience.
This is a traveler assignment, and candidates must be flexible to work across multiple locations as business needs require.
Key Responsibilities
• Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients
• Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing
• Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture
• Maintain accurate records and required documentation
• Ensure patient confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe, professional, and clean work environment
• Support daily operations under the direction of the area supervisor
• Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, and the public
Required Skills & Qualifications
Required:
• Minimum 2-3 years of phlebotomy experience
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
• Reliable transportation (bus, Uber, or rideshare is not considered reliable transportation)
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record (if applicable)
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, overtime, and multiple locations as needed
• Strong customer service and communication skills
Additional Expectations:
• Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work full scheduled shifts
• Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination
Work Environment & Assignment Details
• Assignment locations may include doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other designated sites
• Training locations may vary based on trainer availability
• Not eligible for remote work
