Operations Playbook Developer
Reporting to the Director of Process Excellence, this role will support the development, implementation, and evolution of Suffolk's Operations Playbook our source of truth for how Suffolk builds. This individual will play a key role in maintaining Suffolk's standards of operational excellence by developing and refining standard operating procedures (SOPs), best practices, and templates in close partnership with process owners and business leaders across the organization.
This role requires a thoughtful, highly collaborative, and action-oriented professional who can work cross-functionally to both codify what's working and help design what's next especially in emerging verticals and new markets and sectors where processes are still being defined. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and doer, passionate about consistency and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Director of Process Excellence to advance and maintain Suffolk's Operational Playbook, ensuring all SOPs, best practices, and templates are current, accurate, and aligned with company standards.
- Lead process maturity initiatives across all Operational Excellence (Ops Ex) processes, establishing frameworks to ensure full documentation of in-scope processes.
- Collaborate with business and process owners across regions, departments, and sectors, to define, document, and improve core operational processes.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for continuous process improvement across emerging markets, sectors, and verticals; lead cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions.
- Partner with Ops Ex leadership by providing project management support to high-impact programs and initiatives.
- Measure, report, and communicate the impact of process management and improvement initiatives to senior leadership by supporting the measurement and reporting of process adoption, maturity, and impact through dashboards, playbook analytics, and process reviews.
- Collaborate with Data and Technology teams to design processes that leverage technological innovation and data-driven decision-making.
- Stay current on industry best practices and trends in process management, particularly in Mission Critical, Design-Build, and Suffolk vertical projects.
- Advance measurement approaches and tools in partnership with the Ops Ex team to enhance operational insight and effectiveness.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 57 years of experience in construction operations, process improvement, or standards development.Strategic thinker and self-starter with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.Exceptional project management, organizational, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; capable of engaging at all levels of the organization.Detail-oriented with a focus on operational excellence and measurable outcomes.Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and other construction technologies desired but not required; familiarity with enterprise-level process management tools a plus.Willingness to learn, adapt, and take ownership of high-impact responsibilities.Working Conditions
