The Maintenance Planner is responsible for improving work force productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. This position is crucial to the efficient execution of maintenance work and supports proactive maintenance strategies by ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are well-prepared and documented. Develop and manage detailed maintenance plans, schedules, and work orders for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Collaborate with maintenance technicians, supervisors, production, and engineering to gather information for effective job planning and prioritization. Define and secure necessary labor, materials, tools, and equipment for maintenance tasks. Maintain accurate equipment Maintain accurate equipment history and asset data in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Ensure all work plans include safety requirements, permitting needs, and compliance with applicable regulations. Coordinate maintenance shutdowns, turnarounds, and special projects with other departments. Analyze job feedback to improve future planning and maintenance processes. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule compliance, downtime, backlog, and work order completion rates. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in maintenance planning and scheduling. High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred. 3+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering roles. Proficiency with CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Infor EAM). Strong understanding of maintenance techniques and principles (preventive, predictive, reliability-centered). Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals. Knowledge of workplace safety practices and OSHA regulations. Mix of office and industrial plant / facility settings. May require occasional work outside of regular business hours for emergency planning or shutdown coordination. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in plant areas.
