Equinox is currently looking for a Senior Accountant located in Scottsdale, Arizona or Toronto, Ontario.

JOB SUMMARY :

The Senior Accountant , reporting directly to the Controller, will lead the accounting and financial reporting processes, including the month-end close. In addition, this position will be responsible to ensure timely compliance with all company and regulatory reporting requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Managing month-end close processes across multiple entities
• Review journal entries, investigate accounting discrepancies
• Review and provide oversight with reconciliation of bank accounts; including daily cash updates
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations; including subledgers
• Performance of month-end close procedures for multiple entities
• Assist with process improvement and automation of repetitive tasks by utilizing software tools to streamline repetitive tasks like data entry, transaction recording, and report generation
• Preparation of monthly accurate and timely financial statements including preparation of consolidated financial statements while ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• Performance of treasury responsibilities
• Ability to perform budget versus actual analysis
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, potential issues, and provide insights to controller
• Provide information and support to third party accountants for preparation of sales tax / income tax returns
• Serve as point person for external audits and annual tax submissions
• Maintain chart of accounts / product & service records / reporting structure in ERP system
• Maintain compliance with company policy and procedures
• Assist in ad hoc reporting requirements and projects, as needed
