Buyer Position
Sirius Staffing is currently seeking a Buyer for a Direct Hire role in Highland Park, IL. This is a full-time, on-site role (MondayFriday). The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring a wide range of goodsfrom displays and barware to apparel and promotional items. This position plays a critical role in ensuring inventory levels are optimized while securing the best value and maintaining product quality.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage purchasing activity aligned with a bi-annual forecast and distribution calendar.
- Track, analyze, and report on inventory levels, inbound orders, pricing, and fulfillment status.
- Make strategic recommendations on reorders, product withdrawals, or new product additions based on inventory movement and sales trends.
- Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with both domestic and international suppliers, including regular interaction with manufacturers in Asia.
- Evaluate and challenge pricing to ensure the best value without compromising quality or consistency.
- Ensure item catalog alignment and accuracy across ERP systems, documentation, and warehouses.
Qualifications :
35 years of experience in a buyer, planner, or procurement-focused role.Proven success in vendor negotiations and supplier management, including overseas partnerships.Strong understanding of inventory and purchase order management; ERP experience required (NetSuite is a plus).Excellent Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables).Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.Sirius Staffing is an equal-opportunity employer.
