💰 Compensation : $60 – $70 per hour

About the Opportunity

Direct Counsel has partnered with a highly respected Los Angeles-based law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to support its litigation practice on a remote, contract basis.

This is not your standard “behind-the-scenes” role — it’s an opportunity for a talented litigator to stay in the courtroom game while maintaining control of their schedule. Whether you’re managing your own clients, transitioning between firms, or simply craving balance, this position lets you do the work you love — on your own terms.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Craft persuasive motions, pleadings, and discovery responses that move cases forward.
  • Conduct and defend depositions with confidence and poise.
  • Appear virtually or in person for hearings, mediations, and trials across California.
  • Collaborate with senior counsel on case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Conduct sharp, strategic legal research and draft top-quality memoranda.
  • Bring creative problem-solving and independence to every matter you touch.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar membership in good standing.
  • A strong foundation in defense litigation and proven trial experience.
  • Stellar legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • The ability to thrive independently — and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Tech comfort and professional discipline to succeed in a fully remote environment.
