POSITION SCOPE

The Rodbuster involves the placement of rebar in pre-determined patterns before the concrete is poured as well as tying the rebar together with wire to ensure that it is secure. Rodbusters must be able to read and understand blueprints as well as use the proper tools to secure the rebar in place. They must also be able to lift and move heavy objects and be comfortable working at heights. Safety is of paramount importance in this job and workers should be familiar with the proper safety protocols.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Prepare and install reinforcing steel for poured concrete structures
• Safely operate various power and hand tools to measure cut and shape steel
• Assemble and tie steel pieces together using wire and clamps
• Install steel pieces according to blueprints or oral instructions
• Monitor the quality and safety of their work
• Collaborate with project managers engineers and other construction professionals to coordinate the rebar installation process
• Using power tools to cut and shape the steel rods and mesh
• Using blueprints sketches or verbal instructions to determine the size shape quantity and location of the reinforcing rods
• Ensure that all rebar work meets or exceeds industry standards and local building codes
• Working with reinforcing steel bars
• Cut bend and install rebar according to specifications using specialized tools and equipment
• Position structural components
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment adhering to all health and safety protocols
• Determine quantities sizes shapes and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints sketches or oral instructions
• Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up to date with the latest techniques and industry best practices
• Perform other duties as assigned
