Anesthesia Tech

Reports to the Nurse Manager and is under the supervision of the Anesthesiologist during a case/procedure. Provides anesthesia support services throughout the medical center in conjunction with surgical and interventional procedures requiring anesthesia. The technician functions as a member of the anesthesia and surgical team. Assists in case preparation, induction, extubation, technical and functional support, and between case turnovers of rooms between procedures.

Required Skills

• Familiar with the functioning and requirements of a surgical suite and the processes and requirements of anesthesia care.
• Demonstrate ability to utilize and maintain a wide variety of health care equipment.
• Demonstrate skill to respond quickly and efficiently in fast paced environment.
• Proficient in English. Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Required Experience

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• One (1) year training or experience in a technician-related role.
• Basic Life Support Certification
• Knowledge of sterile techniques to provide sterile hands-on assistance.

Preferred:

• Anesthesia Technician Certification
