\n\nJob Description\n

The Respiratory Therapist ensures that respiratory therapy services, including evaluation and treatment of patients, are rendered in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner. The therapist will serve inpatients, outpatients, UHS staff, and affiliated community groups as needed.

\n\nResponsibilities\n \n

  • Administers respiratory therapy procedures as directed.

    • \n

  • Performs Aerosol Therapy treatments and secretion mobilization therapy.

    • \n

  • Manages BiPAP-CPAP therapy and alarms.

    • \n

  • Performs pulmonary function screening and various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

    • \n

  • Records and reports the results of all procedures accurately.

    • \n

  • Maintains patient healthcare information systems and medication administration programs.

    • \n

  • Collaborates with emergency response for BLS in adult, pediatric, and neonatal cases.

    • \n

  • Participates in departmental in-service programs and other assigned duties.

    • \n \n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n \n

  • Graduation from an accredited School for Respiratory Therapy.

    • \n

  • New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License.

    • \n

  • Registered by the NBRC as a Respiratory Therapist.

    • \n

  • BLS and ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.

    • \n

  • 1+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

    • \n

  • Strong attention to detail, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
