The Maternity Support Services (MSS) Nurse is part of a multi-disciplinary team providing care for patients enrolled in the First Steps program, either in MSS or Infant Case Management (ICM). The MSS RN provides educational and clinical support to patients throughout pregnancy and post-partum. They collaborate with the medical care team to improve and promote healthy birth outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provides excellent service, information, and support to patients and colleagues on the phone and in person.
- Conducts one on one client visits for screening, assessment, surveillance, health education and care and case management services.
- Creates and routinely updates the individualized care plan which is based on the results of the MSS screening and assessment.
- Assist patients with the completion of the standardized depression screenings and risk assessments (pre and post-natal).
- Maintains expected encounter average.
Requirements
Possesses general work-related skills at a higher level than completion of high school, including written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills, and mathematical knowledge frequently acquired through completion of a business school (non-BA / BS) or Associates degree type program.Job duties require knowledge and training in the field of Nursing, typically acquired through a formal associates degree.Must currently have a Registered Nursing license with the State of Washington.Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) preferred, previous experience in lactation support may be considered in lieu of certification.Ability to read and speak Spanish and / or Russian preferred but not required.Travel between work sites required. Must have reliable transportation and provide documentation of auto insurance and valid driver's license as required.Summary
