Summer Camp Support Staff

Hourly : $16.50- $17.50

Position Summary :

Children's Aid runs a summer day camp in Chappaqua, NY that brings together children from Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester. Campers and staff are bused to and from the camp each day. The purpose of this camp is to provide traditional summer camp activities (swimming, arts & crafts, sports, horsemanship, etc.) in the context of relationship building. The children who attend this camp are from different socio-economic, cultural, and racial backgrounds, and range in age from 6-13

The Summer Camp Support Staff is responsible for specific tasks that are consistent with the role as outlined in the Empire State Agreement with Children's Aid. There are two areas of tasks : Sustainability and Mental / Health- Anti Bias Programming. The Summer Camp Support Staff works 29.5 hours / Week until August 29th, 2025, through NYS funding direct to the intern. Additional hours can be arranged with the intern.

Essential Duties :

• Sustainability Projects : (pre camp)-prepare, plant and maintain the learning garden for the summer day camp, wood chipping ropes course area to protect trees and trails for erosion control, painting murals (Peace Path, USA Map) to support Anti Bias / Hate programming.
