Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is a multi-purpose position. The primary purpose is to ensure compliance with respect to project scope, budget and scheduling when performing as a Project Lead Discipline Engineer primarily on smaller projects. The secondary purpose of this position is to provide a liaison between Discipline Engineers, Project Managers and the Chief Discipline Engineer regarding the course of specific projects with respect to the discipline.
Work is closely managed and reviewed for accuracy and adequacy. Follows specific, outlined, and detailed directions.
Provides resolution to problems that are readily identifiable with limited scope and are resolved in accordance with standard practices, procedures, applications, or routines.
Problem / Task resolution timeframe : The majority of tasks typically take one to two days to resolve.
Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor and others in group or department to give and receive information.

Civil Engineer Intern
- Prepare simple plans and designs, calculations, and bills of material in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings, and other specifications.
- Carry out routine technical surveys, make suggestions to modify conception or production techniques or materials.
- Assist more experienced technical personnel with specific aspects of more complex tasks.
Civil Engineer IV
Responsible for studies of limited scope requiring application of prescribed engineering methods.Use initiative and judgment in resolving problems, obtaining and analyzing data, designing or modifying equipment components, and in determining the intent of a specification or instruction.Solve problems by applying standards and following detailed instructions.Civil Engineer III
Use initiative and judgement to resolve problems, interpret engineering specifications, investigate design and field engineering difficulties, and coordinate work schedules.Recommend changes in plans and estimate costs and recommend payment for completed work.Contact associates in other departments to discuss and advise on requirements.Civil Engineer II
Develop, approve, and coordinate work schedules to ensure that objectives of cost, quality, and time are met.Develop guidelines and initiate investigations by subordinate engineers.Establish and maintain client contacts to seek or provide technical information related to the immediate project.Civil Engineer I
Plan, schedule, and conduct detailed discipline engineering work with other disciplines.Prepares and submits periodic reports and forecasts specific to project requirements with the assistance of the Chief Discipline Engineer.Developed and continues to develop an understanding of design engineering and drawing production programs and software.Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PER JOB LEVEL
Civil Engineer Intern - Junior or Senior in University / College; No experience required.Civil Engineer IV - Bachelor's degree; No experience required.Civil Engineer III - Bachelor's degree; 2 years' experience required.Civil Engineer II - Bachelor's degree; 4 years' experience required.Civil Engineer I - Bachelor's degree; 6 years' experience required.
