Primary Responsibilities / what does a typical day :
Responsible for reviewing up to 200 invoices per day – all invoices are submitted electronically which requires getting comfortable in their software.
Research discrepancies – surcharges, invoice mis matches, etc
Works closely with internal buyers and suppliers to resolve issues and ensure invoices are paid
Experience / soft skills must have vs nice to have?
At least 3-4 years’ experience or even less within a fast paced high volume manufacturing AP environment (someone who has dealt with low volume will not acclimate to this role well)
Strong communication skills and professionalism
High volume (200-250+ invoices per day) in a manufacturing environment
Software, and technical skills required vs preferred?
They utilize JD Edwards, PNC automation through PNC bank (it’s their invoicing tool), ERP within business unit is a local / homegrown ERP
Strong Excel skills not needed.
Day-to-Day Duties :
Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry
Execute credit card and bank account reconciliation
Generate purchase orders when necessary
Obtain and print signatures on all checks
Assist senior financial officers as needed
This role has the opportunity to convert to perm.
Must have AP experience; processing of 250+ invoices daily would be great
We use PNC Automation AP tool (if someone has experience, great, not required though)
Required skills and qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent
Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
Superb time management skills and detail orientation
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information
Preferred skills and qualifications :
Associate’s degree or equivalent
Strong mathematical skills
Experience in accounts payable (or accounts receivable)
Experience with accounting software and online platforms / Excel
