The University of Virginia Student Health and Wellness Center invites Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to apply for a full-time position. LPNs are responsible for carrying outpatient care in accordance with licensed independent practitioner's orders, under the guidance and direction of the registered nurse in charge. They administer ordered medications and treatments, observe and record effects of medications, and observe and report patient reactions to treatments or any unusual conditions. Work is largely routine and done according to established protocols, with some supervision.\n\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to : \n
- Administer nursing care to patients requiring care in an ambulatory setting based on nursing practice standards.\n
- Assist with medical examinations, patient teaching, and home care.\n
- Administer immunizations, oral, and injectable medications.\n
- Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.\n
- Document and report patient information clearly and concisely via electronic medical record.\n
- Evaluate each patient's response to treatments and procedures.\n
- Lead certified nursing assistants.\n\nThe salary range for this position is $25-$30 / hour and is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is an in person, overtime eligible position with UVa benefits. Employees benefits package highlights include : \n
