Job Summary : Performs general maintenance repairs in residence halls, sorority houses, fraternity houses, and Cedarbrook II apartments in the Department of Housing and Residence Life.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Replaces damaged ceiling tile and floor tile.
- Paints and patches walls, ceilings, and doors as instructed.
- Selects, cuts, trims, and processes lumber as specified using hand and power tools and woodworking machines.
- Repairs drains, lavatories, flush-valves, fixtures, and pipes as instructed.
- Installs bathroom and shower room accessories such as towel bars, soap dispensers, tissue holders, and clothes hooks.
- Repairs wire, switches, outlets, lights, and equipment as instructed.
- Assists in replacing air condition grills, filters, and HVAC equipment, and supports departmental housekeeping personnel as needed.
- Performs general maintenance as instructed and after hours, weekend or break and holiday on-call responsibilities as needed.
- Repairs or replaces doors, door closures, and door locks.
- Assists in moving, relocating, and set-up of furniture, and performs other duties as assigned.
