Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Strongsville, Ohio. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a vital role in managing payroll processes for a large, multi-state workforce while ensuring compliance with all regulations. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about accuracy and efficiency in payroll operations.

Responsibilities

Process full-cycle payroll for multi-state employees using ADP Workforce Now and other payroll systems.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax laws and company policies.

Review and enter garnishment, child support, and lien documentation received from agencies and courts.

Audit payroll records, including timekeeping, deductions, benefits, and tax filings, to guarantee accuracy.

Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to address discrepancies and maintain data integrity.

Prepare detailed payroll reports, journal entries, and reconciliations to support accounting and audits.

Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries regarding payroll and tax-related matters.

Stay informed about updates in payroll legislation and recommend process improvements.

Lead system testing, upgrades, and implementation of new payroll features to optimize functionality. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.

Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and proficiency in payroll system integrations.

Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and reporting standards.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
