Overview
The Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer supports troubleshooting and problem solving to enhance equipment reliability and performance, leads daily maintenance activities, performs incident investigations, and manages design, installation, and start-up of projects.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support in developing detailed job plans for instrument and equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Develop engineering work packages for critical maintenance jobs and improvement projects.
- Monitor, trend and identify solutions to equipment issues such as accuracy problems, high downtime, high maintenance cost and repetitive failures.
- Generate management-of-change documentation for solutions that deviate from original design.
- Maintain instrumentation specifications and area E&I drawings.
- Perform incident investigations and participate in unit or area safety teams.
- Provide technical support to the production group with instrument and process issues.
- Work closely with drafting, production, maintenance personnel, corporate engineering and construction contractors.
- Oversee the interlock / safety circuit program and provide troubleshooting guidance to E&I technicians.
- Support Process Safety management and contribute to on-call schedule; perform administrative duties 20% of the time.
- Assist in long-term reliability efforts for plant control systems and track reliability via Emerson AMS / GE Meridian.
- Promote plant safety initiatives such as EmPart, Behavior Base Safety and unit compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned (e.g., training, documentation, compliance).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in manufacturing or related field, or a Master's of Science in Engineering.Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.Willingness to challenge status quo to improve business results.Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.Capable of working in a manufacturing plant environment, including ascending / descending stairs and ladders.Computer proficiency in Windows programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Strong safety ethic.Compensation and Benefits
The salary range is $77,906.40–$116,859.60 per year. Additional compensation may include bonuses or commissions. Benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, paid time off, sick leave, and other company programs.
