Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
A dynamic and growing human services organization is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This pivotal opportunity will guide the financial strategy and operational integrity of an agency dedicated to strengthening communities and improving the lives of children, youth, and families across New York.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including statements of activity, balance sheets, tax filings, and regulatory submissions.
- Lead accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit functions.
- Review projections, trends, and budget-to-actual activity; recommend improvements to strengthen planning and decision-making.
- Provide comprehensive financial management and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
- Assess long-range economic trends and forecast opportunities for program expansion.
- Oversee investment of funds and work closely with external partners to ensure strong cash flow and financial stability.
- Provide financial analysis, reporting, and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Ensure consistent adherence to agency policies and support organizational initiatives focused on continuous improvement.
- Perform other executive responsibilities as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.CPA strongly preferred.Minimum 7–10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management or executive role.Proven experience overseeing complex accounting operations, budgeting, and forecasting.Strong knowledge of GAAP, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting requirements.Experience working with nonprofit, human services, government‑funded, or multi‑program organizations highly desirable.Proven ability to analyze financial data, develop strategic recommendations, and communicate effectively with executive leaders and boards.Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop finance staff.Excellent judgment, integrity, and ability to manage confidential information.Ability to work across multiple locations and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.#J-18808-Ljbffr
