• Work 8.5-hour shifts from 2 : 30 PM to 11 : 00 PM
• Maintain 1 : 2 patient ratio, may increase to 1 : 4 during overflow situations
• Call requirement every 3rd weekend, usually on volunteer basis (7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM or 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM)
• Holiday coverage is part of call schedule
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous travel experience required - first-time travelers not accepted
• Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA)
• Dress code : Royal blue scrubs
• 8-hour orientation provided
• Must maintain Louisiana or Compact nursing license
• Care for patients of all age groups including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Work with Epic charting system
• Emergency team assignment possible during hurricane season (June 1 - November 30)
• Must be over 65 miles from facility address (local travelers not accepted)
• No call-ins permitted
