Recovery Audit Coordinator

Overview

RAC coordinators are responsible for all phases of collecting and turning over medical billing information to RACs.  Tracking and trending areas medical billing.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing plans to recover or return money that has been paid in error.
• Responsible for all phases of collecting and appealing denials for inpatient and outpatient.
• Must maintain the tracking and of claims level to assure timely response for hearings by using Meditech Claims and Denials module.
• They will lead the Administrative Law Judge Hearings and direct the workflow for follow.
• Assure communities are aware and prepared for hearings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, health information management or a related field.

Minimum Work  Experience

Medical BillingCMS ProcessesHealthcare Coding

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Undergraduate degree in a related field, such as Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration or finance. Related experience, such as prior work with medical billing and / or coding software.
