About The Position We are seeking a General Surgeon for a locum tenens holiday assignment in Pennsylvania. This urgent opportunity begins Dec 24, 2025, and spans a 6-day assignment providing exclusive 24-hour call coverage. The surgeon will manage all general surgical admissions and be the sole provider of surgical services during the coverage period. Job Details Location : Pennsylvania Start Date : Dec 24, 2025 LOA : 6 days Provider Type Needed : General Surgeon Schedule : 24-hour call coverage from Dec 24 to Dec 29 (7a-7a). Monday, Wednesday, Friday : Clinic 8 : 30a-4 : 30p plus call; Tuesday, Thursday : OR plus call; Saturday and Sunday : On call, no scheduled clinic or OR Responsibilities and Duties Serve as the only general surgeon on site during the assignment Manage all general surgical admissions, such as appendectomies and cholecystectomies Provide surgical services as needed based on admission reason Act as consultant for hospitalist-managed patients requiring surgical input Ensure high standards of care for all surgical inpatients and consults Additional Information Pennsylvania state medical license required Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required DEA required Minimum of 2 years of experience in general surgery Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
