About Jack Rose Dining Saloon

Jack Rose Dining Saloon is a world-renowned bar and restaurant boasting one of the largest whisk(e)y collections in the world, with more than 2,700+ different whisk(e)y expressions ranging from bourbon, rye, scotch, American and international whiskeys on its library-inspired shelves. The saloon also carries an incomparable selection of other spirits, and serves uniquely hand-crafted cocktails, wines from around the world and beers on draft. The three-story destination offers distinctly different experiences throughout : the downstairs dining saloon, the private upstairs balcony room, the glass-enclosed terrace bar, and basement Premier Drams tasting room and spirits shop.

Jack Rose Dining Saloon is seeking a full-time  Sous Chef.  Our food program highlights seasonal Mid-Atlantic and Southern classics, with refined influences from French cuisine. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and plays a key role in daily operations, staff development, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and consistency.

Responsibilities include :

  • Oversee and execute daily prep
  • Support staff training, development, and performance management
  • Assist with inventory management and daily ordering
  • Work the line and support service as needed
  • Uphold and enforce standards for food quality, health, and safety
  • Demonstrate strong, detailed knowledge of all menu prep and menu items
  • Ensure quality control systems are upheld including daily checklists, walk-in organization, and station organization

Requirements :

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting
  • Ability to obtain Food Manager's license
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience (Lead Line Cook or Sous Chef) in a high-volume, casual fine dining restaurant
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bonus points for multilingual skills or pastry experience!

    Compensation & Benefits :

  • $75k - $80k base salary based on experience
