Job Overview
SUMMARY
The Dental Assistant Supervisor is responsible for hiring, supervising, managing performance and developing dental clinic staff. The position provides oversight of patient care and manages patient flow in the Dental Clinic and is responsible for ensuring appropriate care is provided by dental assistant staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

SCOPE AND LEVEL
Guidelines : Guidelines are in the form of stated objectives for the section, unit, function, or project. Performs most elements of supervision over 50% of the time. May also perform the work of front line staff as needed.
Complexity : Work assignment is generally unstructured and employee is responsible for assigning and supervising a variety of functions to achieve the objectives of the section, unit, or project. Duties performed involve weighing and evaluating factors requiring judgment, analytical ability, and problem solving.
Decision Making : Employee is responsible for simultaneous coordination and supervision of several functions, programs, or projects in various stages of completion. Primary responsibility is for arranging and directing the work of two or more employees.
Communications : Contacts are of a non-prescribed nature involving the negotiation and resolution of problems and where exceptional degrees of discretion, judgment, and specialized knowledge are required in carrying out the programs and policies of an organization.
Supervision Received : Under managerial direction, the employee has personal accountability for carrying out the work objectives of an organizational unit or section within the scope of established guidelines and the mission of the organization or department. Employee is expected to resolve problems that arise in the normal course of the work. Work may be discussed with higher level supervisors and reviewed for soundness of judgment and feasibility of decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant certification program.
EXPERIENCE - Four years of experience in Pediatric Dentistry
EQUIVALENCY - Five years of chair side dental assistant experience may substitute for graduation from a Dental Assistant certification program.
CERTIFICATION(S) - State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Surgical Assistant or Surgical Tech Registration ; CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers. Dental Assistant EDDA Certification preferred .
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Hourly Range : $23.54 to $35.31.
