Schwabs AI Strategy & Transformation team, known as AI.x, is the central hub for Artificial Intelligence at Schwab. We are an integrated product, engineering, strategy and risk team, all based in San Francisco. We help set the enterprise vision for AI, invest in the most promising opportunities, and accelerate delivery across the company. We also build the core platform that powers AI at scale and explore next-generation GenAI efforts that will redefine how we serve our clients.

As a (Mid-Level) AI Researcher on AI.x, you will play an important role in advancing Schwabs priorities by contributing to innovative AI research and developing impactful solutions. This position offers the opportunity to help shape Schwabs future with AI, to work on research that serves millions of clients, and to grow your career in one of the most dynamic areas of technology today.

As a (Mid-Level) AI Researcher, you will design, investigate, and develop advanced AI models and algorithms that enhance client experience and deliver business value. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and business leaders to align research efforts with Schwabs enterprise strategy. You will participate in mentoring and knowledge-sharing with junior team members, helping to build strong scientific practices and foster a culture of continuous learning. You will contribute to solving complex technical challenges, supporting research standards, and driving experimentation from concept to application. Above all, you will bring curiosity, creativity, and technical depth to help propel the next generation of AI at Schwab.

What you have

RequiredQualifications :

• A masters or other advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related field, or equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of experience in AI / ML research and development using Python
• 5+ years of experience building data pipelines and data analyses that interface with large datasets
• 3 + years of experience using AI models to deliver business value
• Advanced expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and / or generative AI

Preferred Skills :

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
