If you enjoy working with children 14-17 years of age, then our Therapist may be the right fit for you at our Youth Residential Campus, New Directions. In operation since 1981, New Directions, Inc. provides a full continuum of treatment programming for adolescents struggling with a primary substance abuse disorder, as well as co-occurring mental health concerns. The facility also accepts pregnant adolescents. Located in Pepper Pike, Ohio, the facility provides gender-specific residential programs, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and traditional outpatient programs. New Directions does not provide medical detoxification services on-site.

The Therapist performs diagnostic assessments and clinical services within the office setting. This position is responsible for individual, family & group counseling along with crisis intervention services and case management. This licensed provider will engage as a member of a collaborative team. With a Trauma informed approach, this position will be a representative for the organization and how we offer integrated services for recovery and mental health. Position may be specific to residential or outpatient clients & families or a combination of both

More specifically, this therapist role is primarily responsible for the following :

• Provide trauma informed services to clients and their family system.
• Provide accurate, concise and concurrent documentation according to program procedures and policies. Including, but not limited to diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Provide consultation and collaboration with community partners and clients' treatment teams. Promote New Directions services and engage in outreach activities.
• Providing practical skills focused individual therapy.
• Makes referrals for clients and / or family members as appropriate.
• Identifies potential areas for crisis and proactive plans to prevent it.
