Job Summary :
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiological examinations as required by staff physicians.
Hours :
- 0.8 FTE - 32 Hours per week
- 4 - 8 hour variable shifts - Monday through Friday
- Call Coverage once every eighth weekend
Essential Job Functions :
Provides technologist services for General x-ray and C-Arm as needed.Works with the PACS systemMaintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed suppliesMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulationsGains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questionsPrepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques using beam restrictive devices patient shielding and knowledge of exposure factors.Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures.Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department recordsContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Regular and prompt work-site attendanceOther duties as they are assignedQualifications Knowledge and Ability :
Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.Active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)Must possess a Wisconsin radiographer licenseAbility to relate and work effectively with othersBLS certification is required upon hireDemonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standardsWillingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancementPrevious experience as a Radiology Technologist in a hospital environment is preferredIs aware of professional standards and performs in accordance with themBenefits :
