Position Overview

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the project management team in all phases of commercial construction — from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow within a company recognized for delivering architecturally distinctive and technically demanding projects.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a rising construction professional who thrives in a collaborative, design-driven environment and is ready to take the next step in their project management career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing all phases of construction
  • Review and track submittals, RFIs, and change orders with accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist in maintaining project budgets, schedules, and documentation
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure design intent is maintained
  • Communicate effectively with field teams and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Participate in progress meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items
  • Monitor procurement, material tracking, and subcontractor performance
  • Contribute to project closeout, ensuring thorough documentation and turnover

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction , ideally with exposure to retail / restaurant, medical, or mixed-use projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and document control
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
