Job Summary

The UCSF School of Dentistry is actively recruiting a Prosthodontist to serve as the Clinic Director of the UCSF Dental Practice, a high-volume, multi-specialty dental clinic located in the city of San Mateo. The Clinic Director will lead day‑to‑day operations, ensuring alignment with UCSF Health standards; drive operational excellence, including financial performance and sustainability, quality assurance and risk management, standard operating procedures, patient safety, and incident reporting. Additionally, they will facilitate clinical and consultative conferences to support integrated, collaborative care.

As a Prosthodontist, the Clinic Director will provide direct patient care focusing on complex restorative and prosthodontic treatments, diagnose and treat oral diseases and functional conditions requiring prosthodontic intervention, consult and collaborate with other dental and medical providers, and participate in advancing digital dentistry and technology‑enhanced treatment modalities.

This is a full‑time contract role for 2 years, eligible for renewal.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine Dentistry (DMD) degree or a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
• Completion of a post‑doctoral residency program in prosthodontics.
• Completion of a CODA‑accredited training program in Prosthodontics.
• Eligibility for licensure or special permit in the State of California.
• Proven experience working as a prosthodontist.
• Superb dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
• Outstanding patient management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making.
• Strong clinic / center patient care management skills and practice‑management knowledge in scheduling, customer‑service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and information technology.
• Broad knowledge of the patient population served and the requirements for the delivery of services.
• Commitment to using an antiracist / anti‑oppressive framework and lens in patient care, education, teaching, and advocacy.
