The Facility Specialist plays a key role in supporting the operations, maintenance, and services of the Krause Gateway Center (KGC). This position manages building systems, vendor coordination, facility maintenance, event support, and assists with operational support of Krause Family properties. The role ensures a safe, well-maintained, and functional environment for employees, guests, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform site operations and maintenance of the KGC facilities, including HVAC, lighting, safety systems, preventative maintenance programs, landscaping, lawn care, snow removal, and related projects.
- Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors, including janitorial, security, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and grounds services.
- Support mailroom operations by assisting with mass mailings and serving as backup when the Mailroom Coordinator is unavailable.
- Assist with room and event setup and teardown (occasional evenings and weekends required).
- Manage building systems including access control and work order systems.
- Assist with management and coordination of company and family fleet vehicles.
- Support the Krause Family with facility and property management tasks, including inventory management, event coordination, repairs, and general maintenance troubleshooting.
- Provide responsive, professional customer service to internal staff, leadership, and external partners.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in a facilities, building maintenance, or similar operational role.
- Experience in building operations, vendor management, or grounds maintenance preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong general maintenance and facility troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to stay organized, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly to operational needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional and personable interactions with vendors, staff, and leadership.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
